Double click on “My Computer” located on your desktop.
Double click on “Control Panel” and double click on the icon entitled “Phone and Modem Options “
A window entitled “Phone and Modem Options” should appear.
Click on the tab labeled “Modem”.
Under the “Modem” dialog box, there should be a list of all of your modems currently installed. Select the modem that is used to connect to the internet. Then click on “Properties”.
Now click on the “Advanced” tab. There should be an “Advanced Port Settings...” and “Change Default Preferences...”
In “Advanced Port Settings”, set “Receive Buffer” to 14 and “Transmit Buffer” to 16”. Press ok. This option should be kept this way, even if you decide to change it back to default.
Now click on “Change Default Preferences”, located in Fig X. Set the “Port Speed” to 115200, “Compression” Disabled, “Flow Control” to None.
