<kal> Ok so Adroit we all know you on uniball as that name, can you tell us anything personal about yourself? What your name is your age etc...
<Adroit> 0k
<Adroit> I'm Kyle Wild (funny name, I know)
<Adroit> 22, and I live in Chicago, IL, USA
<kal> lol
<Adroit> but I'm moving to San Francisco, CA, USA in a few weeks
<kal> :O
<Adroit> everyone that moves to the SF Bay Area is into either technology, dudes, or both
<Adroit> I'm into technology, but not dudes.
<kal> lol
<kal> So can you name some of the past squads you have been in if not only MPT?
<Adroit> sure
<Adroit> well I've always been in MPT, for 7 years now, in various games
<Adroit> in UB I've taken on several other tags when necessary to keep competing
<Adroit> OF, DD, AA, Maven
<Adroit> Maven being basically the combination of DD and MPT back then
<Adroit> when both squads were too small in active numbers to stand alone
<kal> Any other online games that you are into besides uniball?
<Adroit> well, MPT originated in Infantry
<Adroit> it was created by myself and about 5 others
<Adroit> most of whom I still am in touch with
<Adroit> in fact, my roommate in Chicago is Force, who was a founding member of MPT
<Adroit> and I'm moving to San Francisco to live on the couch of Dank, who was a founding member of both MPT Infantry and MPT UniBall
<Adroit> I also have been known to play a lot of CS over the last 5-6 years
<Adroit> the only game I have played consistently and over the last 6+ years is UniBall
<Adroit> I revived MPT in Infantry in 2004 and took it back to #1 before re-retiring
<kal> So where did you find out about uniball? From Counter-Strike?
<Adroit> actually, I was a MPOGD user back in 99
<Adroit> and Infantry went down to move to Sony's servers when it got bought by Sony
<Adroit> so I went on MPOGD to read about other 2D online games
<Adroit> and found UniBall and ARC had good reviews
<Adroit> I tried ARC and found it a crappy, watered-down Infantry
<Adroit> I found UniBall and fell in love
<Adroit> err, found=tried*
<Adroit> hey, don't include that last part about ARC
<Adroit> I don't want to piss off my ARC-loving friends
<Adroit> =D
<kal> Does MPT stick together in any other games? Online , RPG , 2D , MPOGD etc...?
<kal> ;p
<Adroit> yeah, we still play SC and Infantry together
<Adroit> I am the only multi-game MPT'er that still plays UniBall
<Adroit> but I play SC and Infantry with Arcades, Dank, Force, Blind
<Adroit> (all of them used to play UB with me too)
<Adroit> SC = StarCraft
<Adroit> I also play CounterStrike with Dank and Force
<Adroit> oh yeah, and I'm hoping to get into this Babo-something game with Tweeder
<kal> So do you know all the MPT players (founder ones)?
<kal> In life that is...
<Adroit> I went to high school with Dank, Force, and Blind
<Adroit> I met Nurv once, and once KindGrind spent a week hanging out and gaming at my place
<Adroit> KindGrind was a founding member of the first MPT (which was in Infantry)
<kal> So what do you like most about the uniball community?
<Adroit> oh wait, nurv wasn't a founder, leave that part about him out rofl
<Adroit> the best thing about UniBall's community is how everyone knows each other, and word spreads fast about players, matches, squads, leagues, tourneys
<Adroit> We owe this all to BRChat, which is an interface that is very conducive to community building
<Adroit> and also to active league-builders like surreal
<kal> Anything you absolutely hate about uniball?
<Adroit> sometimes I am saddened by its reliance on stable ping
<kal> like my 40 to your 220 ;p
<Adroit> but i don't hate that -- it's just a situation where our technology isn't as good as it needs to be for UB to be perfect
<Adroit> right, like that ;)
<Adroit> in fact I am hoping to bring UB to a large community of gamers out in silicon valley, as you can read about in my thread at http://www.uniball-central.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=3273781#3273781
<kal> If you could have three members to join your squad from the uniball gods and godesses who would they be?
<Adroit> what do you mean gods and goddesses?
<kal> You have never heard of them?!!?!?!? They are the people who make uniball what it is!
<kal> They are the people that are displeased when you type /error
[17:54] ***Adroit has left Interview
<kal> LOL
<kal> what a loser
[17:54] ***Adroit has joined Interview
<Adroit> they were displeased there.
<kal> man this guy is dumb
<Adroit> I'm thick
<kal> trying to whisper me about the interview
<Adroit> lol
<Adroit> shh!
<Adroit> anyway
<Adroit> well, when I come back to rebuild MPT
<Adroit> I'd mostly want to play again with former members surreal, tigger, and corvette
<Adroit> running MPT isn't like running most squads
<Adroit> it's no longer about whom I can get to join
<Adroit> it's more about whom I can get to rejoin
<kal> Why would you want those three? I mean why dont you pick the Uniball Gods! <kal> errr
<kal> stupid
<Adroit> BRChat formatting is hard for newbs
<Adroit> j/k =)
<kal> :[
<kal> GOD TWEEDER
<kal> YOU IDIOT
<Adroit> I've never mingled with the UB gods, really
<Adroit> I don't know them
<Adroit> I'm Adroit
<Adroit> You're interviewing Adroit
<Adroit> are you drunk?
<Adroit> the closest thing to a UB God among my friends is Ataqer
<Adroit> so if I had to pick a god-like person, it'd be him
<Adroit> I love his perspective on UB and I love the features he has made
<kal> Who do you think your best teammates in uniball would be? (Anyone in the community)
<Adroit> Lobo, as always
<kal> Why would you pick him?
<Adroit> Lobo and I have great chemistry
<Adroit> we've been playing together, off and on, for almost 6 years
<Adroit> he knows what I'm gonna do
<kal> Do you think you could beat any team on uniball? (Cow & Rage) (Dios & Ck) (Pomm & Small) etc...
<Adroit> and plays solid defense
<Adroit> oh, on shades?
<kal> Any map
<Adroit> we could definitely beat any of those teams maybe 30% of the time
<kal> Suuuurrrreeee thats what they all say. ;p
<Adroit> but if you're looking for my ultimate shades partner
<Adroit> I'd say Corvette
<Adroit> and then I'd say yes, Corvette and I would take on any of those teams without incident ;)
<Adroit> this is all in a beautiful lagless vacuum, of course
<kal> What is your fondest memory dealing with uniball?
<Adroit> my fondest memory goes back a long time
<Adroit> to late 2000 when I had just started
<Adroit> I was interviewed back then for being captain of MPT, the best n00b squad
<kal> lol
<Adroit> there were 5 members and we were all 2 month players but we were doing pretty well
<Adroit> anyway after that interview
<Adroit> I got in a miniball game against 3Dwarlord and someone else
<Adroit> and afterwards 3D whispered me
<Adroit> to let me know that I had solid strategy and court vision, and that I'd be great one day
<Adroit> i seriously get a littly misty remembering that
<Adroit> ;)
<kal> lol
<kal> how sweet!
<Adroit> indeed
<kal> What is the best map that you think exist on uniball and in your own words tell me why.
<Adroit> I think shades separates the men from the boys
<Adroit> or, to be PC, the adults from the children
<Adroit> I have the utmost respect for solid 2v2 shades players
<Adroit> because of the chemistry, blocking, racing, shooting, juking, and prediction involved in that map
<Adroit> it combines well-practiced trick shots with great teamwork and chemistry
<Adroit> a good 2v2 shades match looks like two minds competing against each other
<Adroit> instead of four minds
<kal> Cough* I have better trick shots then you loser *Cough
<Adroit> yes but i'm the guy that goes 0-6 on shades
<Adroit> I don't score ;)
<kal> lol
<Adroit> again, though, this is in a lag-free vacuum
<Adroit> Hockey still stands as the best test of strategy since most players have too much lag for real shades games
<kal> What are they needed skills to be a top rated uniballing player in every map?
<Adroit> but one day, when everyone has fiberoptic connections, shades will be the key.
<Adroit> there is really just one key
<Adroit> it's an adaptive mind
<kal> practice?
<Adroit> practice is useful for everyone
<Adroit> practice decides what you can do within your potential
<Adroit> and if you can reach it
<Adroit> but the most important factor really, is just how high that potential is
<Adroit> it's all about being adaptive.
<Adroit> adaptive people can pick up new maps the most quickly, and they can absorb strategies that they observe in others
<kal> So what are some of the hardest things you have faced in your uniball career?
<Adroit> adaptive gamers pick up small things from the best, and emulate them, and become the best themselves
<Adroit> the hardest things are probably political
<Adroit> I used to be a bit of a hot head
<kal> you heard that folks!
<Adroit> and I use the term "used to" merely comparatively, because I still am a passionate player
<Adroit> but basically, I was young when I started playing
<Adroit> and now I'm a grown-up
<kal> What are some things that people in the uniball society do to make you want to just hit them upside the head and call them retarded?
<Adroit> mostly Outkast-related stuff
<kal> name some of it
<Adroit> bigotry, racism, conservative and closed-minded hatred
<Adroit> targeted towards lobo, niplick, or myself
<Adroit> it's a real shame to see that in such a strong player
<kal> Is there any certain color that you love to play on in any uniball map?
<Adroit> it's always made me both angry and sad
<Adroit> well, before the beautiful map-rotate feature
<Adroit> I always liked being red on shades
<Adroit> mostly because I learned shades playing against Cow
<Adroit> and Cow loves blue
<Adroit> so I got used to red
<kal> lol
<Adroit> now, though, I just rotate the map if I need to
<Adroit> and even then, only in duels
<Adroit> on Hockey I like to be red for the mere aesthetic effect
<Adroit> that red is more murderous
<kal> lol
<Adroit> alright, I'd better get in the shower
<Adroit> merry christmas!
<kal> 2 more quiestions
<kal> !!!
<kal> Anythingyou would like to add?
<Adroit> my gf's family is coming home from church soon
<Adroit> and I said I'd be showered!
<Adroit> okay lte's hurry :)
<Adroit> I'd like to add that
<kal> ck is still fat?
<Adroit> haha
<Adroit> no, not that
<Adroit> I'd like to add that I am planning to spread UB to california where it'll be in a nest of millions of online gamers
<Adroit> so please support my cause!
<Adroit> http://uniball-central.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7960
<kal> And the last question is!
<kal> How did you become such a famous uniballer
<kal> ?
<Adroit> Easy
<Adroit> it's a small community
<Adroit> everyone's famous =)
<kal> Ok Thank You for your time Adroit
<Adroit> merry christmas, kal
<kal> have a nice shower :]
<Adroit> any time!
<kal> Merry Christmas
<Adroit> I'll be singing Jingle Balls
<kal> lol
<Adroit> errr
<Adroit> typo
<kal> suurrreeee
<Adroit> buh-bye
<kal> peace
